Apartamentai Gedimino pr.

The apartment is located in a beautiful, well known part of Vilnius' historical area – Gediminas avenue, built during the beginning of the XIX century in a neoclassical style. When the project was planned, it was designed to have one floor area space with a total area of 58 m2.During the construction period, the space was divided into 2 floors including a new overlay with a skylight window. The a total area increased to 118 m2The first floor was planned to have a spacious living room area with an open kitchen and a bathroom connected with an integrated wardrobe. The second floor was divided into three spaces: a big bedroom with open staircase area, a bathroom, and a wardrobe connected with the working area. One of the main goals, when we started creating this modern interior was to preserve and display old, yellow bricks that were part of this original building structure and integrate them into the new contemporary concept space. The natural light problem in the living room area, near the fireplace, was resolved by installing a skylight floor window into the overlay so that the light from the sunroof on the second floor could reach the first floor without any obstruction.During the project phase, most of the planning solutions were made according to the client’s non-traditional needs. Most of the furniture and accessories were ordered and handmade in Europe or Lithuania. The colors were selected considering the main concept and the client’s wishes. It was decided to use neutral, earthy tones and match them together with bricks, concrete, walnut, Karelia Oak, Cor-Ten Steel and glass.
