These are the premises of the Dental Clinic in the Old Town of Vilnius. Upon the wish of the client, we have renovated the reception area on the ground floor and we have planned and newly refurbished massage room, beauty salon premises, a common kitchen, WC, dressing room and another reception area in the basement. We’ve found the beauty and authenticity under the concrete, plasterboard layers – the old red brick. This was a very hard task, the craftsmen were working both with sand and ice machines in order to bring out the bricks, and at the end, the bricks were unveiled with handwork by hammering each brick with the chisel. In order to prevent the walls from growing damps, all the outdoor walls were dug up and they were impregnated from the outside. From inside, a special soaking solution was put in a wall, preventing the water from penetrating to the walls. The result of these efforts was stunning. Traveling to different countries, encountering the new cultures and art inspires me and let’s me find unique solutions in order to express individuality of the project. Therefore, after a trip to Morocco we have decided to install a metal Moroccan lamp with an almost Moroccan carpet made out of the tiles in the basement. The mirror is associated with the worlds of nonexistence. It is believed, that it may shape the fate of a person. The blurs on the surface of the mirror are called the blindness of the mirror and sometimes are considered as a drawback, I believe differently and consider it only as a decoration of the interior. I used the Moroccan carving ornament for the decoration of the doors, also the same ornament is used in a niche in WC room. The mirror behind the carving brings out the ornament even more.At the reception I wanted tohighlight the aquarium, so I replaced the brown MDF boards with glossy whiteones instead. The colour was adjusted to the colours of the walls. The work place of theadministrator was separated with the desk. The décor element on the wall – a workof art from the glass with specially designed and incrusted stain glass (vitražas) elements. My idea was made reality by the artist Lina Austė Creativity, professionalism of craftsmen, allows us to implement interesting, exclusive interiors, which make you feel good and comfortable.
