Patalpos, kuriose buvo kuriamas interjeras, yra rekonstruotame Kauno tarpukario architektūros pastate, naujai suformuotame mansardiniame aukšte. Ši erdvė buvo užstatoma ant pastato visiškai naujai ir neturėjo jokių autentiškų tam laikmečiui būdingų architektūros bruožų. Klientei pasiūliau būstui suteikti lengvą, moderniai interpretuotą art deco stiliaus inspiruotą, veidą.
Interjere gausu šiam stiliui būdingo dekoratyvumo: grafišku ornamentu puošti tonuoti stiklai, blizgaus metalo detalės, sendinti auksuoti veidrodžiai, gyvenamajame kambaryje esantti akcentinė betono siena, kurios idėja buvo pasiskolinta ir savaip interpretuota iš kito Kauno tarpukario modernizmui priklausančio pastato fasado, imitacinėmis gegnėmis dekoruotos lubos (būtent dėl šio sprendimo patalpos atrodo aukštesnės), grindų raštai atribojantis ir erdvėje tarsi išskiriantys tam tikras funkcines zonas. Tačiau art deco stilius tapo tik mūsų inspiracijų ir įkvėpimo šaltiniu, o bendra būsto visuma išliko itin lakoniška, moderni, nuosaiki ir šiuolaikiška. Stengtasi, kad interjeras būtų nepavaldus laikui ar užplūstančioms tendencijoms.
Džiugu, kad antikvariato pagalba iš kolekcininko pavyko nupirkti autentišką, art deco stiliaus valgomojo stalą, kuris taip pat tapo vienu iš interjero akcentų, organiškai įsiliejusių į bendrą modernią visumą.
The premises, where the interior was being designed, are in the reconstructed building of Kaunas interwar architecture, on the newly formed mansard floor. The space was completely new to the building and did not have any authentic architectural features of that period. I offered to the client a light, modern interpreted Art Deco style inspired appearance for this apartment.The interior is abundant with decorative character of this style: tinted glasses decorated with graphic ornament, glossy metal details, aged gild mirrors as well as the leading concrete wall in the living room, the idea of which was borrowed and interpreted in the own way from the facade of another interwar modernism building in Kaunas, ceiling decorated with imitated rafters (principally because of this solution the room looks higher), flooring patterns that are bounding as well as kind of separating certain functional areas in the space. However, the Art Deco style had only become a source of our incentive and inspiration, but the overall look of the apartment has remained extremely laconic, modern, moderate and contemporary. The aim was to make sure the interior is not prone to be affected by time or fluctuating trends. It is gratifying that, from one collector with the help of the antique store, we have managed to buy the authentic Art Deco style dining table, which has also become one of the interior accents organically merging into the modern entirety.
