This was a challenging renovation of a 73 sq. meter, three-room apartment in the soviet building constructed in 1958.

Challenge number one: Two people will live in this apartment, both of them are designers; 

Challenge number two: The building has constructive defects, ceiling panels move from vibrations contributing to formations of cracks;

Challenge number three: Shoestring budget;

Our solution was a combination of boho and industrial style. It was a very successful choice as these styles actually thrive with imperfections - such as uneven brick walls, bumpy black painted concrete ceiling, old creaky parquet floor. Style selection allowed us to save a ton of budget, because we didn’t have to make expensive deformation-resistant perfect surfaces. Other styles, like minimalism, would look sloppy with such execution.

Functional zones, furniture and lighting is designed to host multiple scenarios - work from home, family and friends nights, lovely book reading evening by the bio-fireplace with a light jazz playing from the turntable. Light is particularly important here, from functional bright ceiling spots on rails to more detailed atmospheric lights. Brick walls are lit from the bottom, pointing up, creating a cozy campfire mood. Collection of floor and table lamps create careful accents on piano, turntable, dresser. 

Interior is dominated by natural colors white, black, brown wood and deep greens. All very natural and click well with live plants that owners love. Antique flea-market furniture finds mixed with selection of iconic furniture pieces referencing a wide range of pop culture, detailed with hobby items and handpicked posters - all create a live and creativity-inspiring feel in this space.

When renovating a 73 square meter, three-room apartment, the challenge was to find a compromise between two people, both of whom are designers. 

As a result, a combination of boho and industrial style was chosen. 73 square meters m. The apartment has a living room connected to the kitchen, a bedroom, a work space and bathroom.
