Apartamentai Mokslininkų name
Šie Vilniaus Mokslininkų namų pastate esantys apartamentai yra vieni iš penkiasdešimties. Monumentalios architektūros pastatas puikiai reprezentuoja sovietinio realizmo architektūrą. Pagal pirminį to meto valdžios sumanymą, tai turėjo būti elitinis daugiabutis, skirtas iškiliems mokslo ir kultūros veikėjams. Pastatas buvo projektuotas su penkiomis dvigubomis laiptinėmis, skirtomis paradinei ir ūkinei funkcijoms, teritorijoje suplanuotais teniso kortais, fontanu. Visada įdomu imtis projekto, kai objektas yra tokiame išskirtiniame kontekste, tiek istorine, tiek ir architektūrine prasme. Mintis, kad interjeras turėtų maksimaliai sietis su šio pastato architektūra, tačiau iš šių dienų perspektyvos, lėmė šio projekto kryptį. Nuotaika, medžiagos, spalvos, faktūros derintos improvizuojant 20 a. pirmos pusės interjero stilių tematika. Apartamentų planinė struktūra nebuvo visiškai autentiška, nes kažkuriuo laikotarpiu būstas buvo padalintas ir vietoje originaliai planuotų 180–190 kvadratinių metrų yra likę apie tris ketvirtadalius pirminio ploto. Dėl šios priežasties teko iš naujo apgalvoti virtuvės ir prieškambario funkciją. Tad buvo suprojektuotas baldinis tūris, atskiriantis prieškambario ir virtuvės erdves. Šiame atitvariniame tūryje buvo numatyta lauko drabužių spinta, iš įėjimo į butą pusės, o iš gyvenamojo kambario pusės – ergonomiška virtuvė. Taip pat teko iš naujo perplanuoti ir vonios kambarių erdves pritaikant jas šių dienų poreikiams. Likusių būsto erdvių planinė struktūra kito neženkliai, o akcentais tapo išsaugoti bei atkurti autentiški interjero elementai: gyvenamojo kambario durys su stiklu, lubų lipdiniai iš gipso.

This apartment in the Vilnius House of Scientists building is one of the fifty. The monumental architectural building perfectly represents the architecture of Soviet realism. According to the original idea of the government of that time, it was to be an elite apartment building intended for prominent figures of science and culture. The building was designed with five double staircases intended for ceremonial and economic functions with the tennis courts and a fountain planned on the territory. It is always interesting to take on a project when the object is in such an exceptional historical and architectural context. The main idea of the interior is related to the architecture of this building. The interior mood is based on the materials, colors, and textures that were combined by improvising on the theme of interior styles of the first half of the 20th century. The apartment layout was not completely authentic, because at some point the flat was divided and instead of the originally planned 180–190 square meters we have about three quarters of the original area. For this reason, the function of the kitchen and hallway had to be reconsidered. The furniture volume was designed that now separates the hallway and the kitchen. The bathroom spaces also had to be redesigned, adapting them to today's needs. The layout of the remaining living spaces almost has not changed. The main accents were preserved and restored such as the living room door and the plaster ceiling moldings.
